Loyola University New Orleans is proud to announce that Public Relations senior Meghan Hall has been awarded the prestigious Geoffrey M. Curtis Scholarship, a $10,000 scholarship granted annually by the PRSA Foundation. This award is given to three rising junior or senior undergraduate students who are pursuing careers in public relations, journalism, or communications and identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color).

Established in 2023, the Geoffrey M. Curtis Scholarship supports students committed to advancing diversity within the communications industry. Along with the financial award, recipients like Hall are offered the chance to interview for a paid, full-year internship with the Institute for Public Relations, providing invaluable experience in the field.

Geoff Curtis, the former Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Chief Communications Officer at Horizon Therapeutics, has dedicated his career to health care communications and is a passionate advocate for education equity. Through his grant to the PRSA Foundation, Curtis aims to reduce barriers to education and foster diversity in the communications field.

“We need more diversity in the communications field, and I’m hopeful that this scholarship is a step in helping to make that a reality,” Curtis stated.

This scholarship underscores the importance of supporting the next generation of communicators and highlights Hall’s commitment to excellence in her studies and her future career in public relations.
