Mass Communication

Shape the Future: Become the Voice Tomorrow's Media

At Loyola, whether you're passionate about writing for television, traditional news sites, or multimedia, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of journalism and communication. The College Media Association ranks our campus newspaper, The Maroon, as the #1 media outlet in the country, and The Princeton Review consistently places it among the top ten newspapers in the United States. As a student here, you’ll be encouraged to harness your influence to change minds, inform decisions, manage crises, and shape conversations. Loyola’s hands-on approach nurtures strategists, researchers, planners, and doers—students who win national competitions and alumni who thrive at major corporations. You’ll gain practical experience building campaigns for real clients like Nissan, J.C. Penney, Jimmy Choo, Pizza Hut, Ocean Spray, and various national and local nonprofits. In a world rapidly evolving due to technological advancements, a Visual Communication degree from Loyola will equip you to become an advertising creative director, brand strategist, videographer, photographer, and more. We’ll teach you how to introduce a brand or issue in a way that resonates globally and promotes it through a lens that captures the ever-changing picture of society.
