Musical Theatre B.A.

Musical Theatre

Our unique Musical Theatre program trains you to be a thoughtful actor, a strong singer, and a confident mover.

You'll learn the fundamentals of acting, singing, and dancing combined with the knowledge of what it takes to make plays from the artistic and production side of the equation.

The curriculum includes courses in American musical history, acting, voice and movement, dance, and more. You'll also take Private Voice Lessons each semester to help you develop and strengthen your sound, your musicality, and your book.

Questions about auditions and degree programs can be sent to theatre@loyno.edu.

Singing is Just the Beginning...

A working musical theatre artist has to do it all: sing, act, dance, market themselves, create new things, build their network, and forge their own path.

Because we offer a B.A., this means that you're going to get training in singing, acting, and dance, but you'll also take courses in theatre management and stagecraft. You can take marketing and PR classes in our sister School of Communication and Design. You can be in a Mainstage Musical and sing in the Opera Workshop. We want you to learn how to balance "it all" in college so you can go out into the field ready to land the tightrope walk of being a successful working artist.
