Design Resources

The Department of Design is located in Monroe Hall on the 1st, 4th, and 5th floors. Embracing the distinctive culture of New Orleans, the department provides an extensive array of analog and digital resources, including:

  • Analog: letterpress, screen printing lab, Book Arts, drawing room, metal/wood shop
  • Digital: 3D printers, large format printers, 11x17 color printers, high-end computer labs, plasma cutter

University Resources

 

  • American Institute for Graphic Arts (AIGA)
    Our Graphic Design Department has their own chapter of AIGA. We bring in guest artists, have fundraising events, such as our T-shirt sale and workshops. If you have any questions please contact Daniela Marx, our faculty advisor, dmarx@loyno.edu.
  • Internships
    The culture of New Orleans is rich in the arts and thus provides ample opportunities for student internships. Students have participated in internships with high-profile organizations throughout the city, such as Louisiana State Theater Festival, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, New Orleans Opera Association, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, New Orleans Museum of Art and Peter Mayer Advertising.  For more information, contact the Career Development Center.
