Master of Music Therapy

The master’s in music therapy from Loyola’s renowned School of Music prepares students to excel in the field with advanced clinical, supervisory, and methodological knowledge.

Loyola’s music therapy program is considered one of the most respected in the country, and it is endorsed by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA). The MMT (Master of Music Therapy) program is a fully-online degree designed for students who have already completed a bachelor’s degree in music therapy or the equivalent. An equivalency program exists for students with undergraduate degrees in other areas of music; students in that hybrid program complete a year of full-time on-campus equivalency work, an internship, and online MMT coursework.  Both programs are taught by faculty members who are leaders in the field of music therapy and engaged in clinical practice, research, writing, and advocacy.

Please note: The MMT equivalency program is a hybrid program that requires full-time on-campus coursework in the first year of studies.
