Come party with the gods during Carnival season when Loyola Opera Theatre presents Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld - as much fun in 2025 as when the operetta premiered to scandalous reviews in 1858! In fact, it’s what Mardi Gras is all about: mythological characters, clever satire, secret disguises, rowdy crowds, and dancing (the famous Can-Can)!  Musically prepared by Carol Rausch and conducted by Dreux Montegut, with stage direction by Irini Kyriakidou-Hymel, the two performances will feature the 25 singers of Loyola’s spectacular Opera Workshop in a fully costumed production with orchestra. Get into the spirit for NOLA’s biggest annual celebration with this tuneful treat - Saturday, January 25 at 7:30pm and Sunday, January 26 at 3pm in Roussel Hall. Please be aware that details are subject to change.
