Bio
Lina Lee is an Assistant Professor of Design and the lead faculty for the Interactive Design concentration at Loyola University New Orleans. She received her Ph.D. in Software and Information Systems from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, along with an M.S. in Architecture and an M.S. in Human–Computer Interaction. She holds a B.S. and an M.S. in Housing and Interior Design from Kyung Hee University in South Korea.
Her scholarly interests center on human–computer interaction and interactive design, with a focus on inclusive design approaches that challenge majority-centered assumptions in digital systems. She is particularly interested in understanding how differences in cognition, perception, and interaction shape the ways people engage with technology, and how these insights can be translated into thoughtful, accessible design decisions. Drawing on an interdisciplinary background in design, architecture, and HCI, her work reflects a design-driven approach that bridges research, experimentation, and practice.
As an educator, she is committed to mentoring students through hands-on, studio-based learning that integrates critical thinking, research, and making. Her teaching emphasizes user-centered design, rapid prototyping, and ethical, socially responsible approaches to interactive design, aligning with Loyola’s mission to educate students for meaningful engagement with their communities and the world.
