Vocal Performance major Erika Flowers releases EP

Erika Flowers is currently studying vocal performance and music industry at Loyola University New Orleans.  A versatile and classically trained vocalist, Erika has performed in productions like The New Orleans Opera Associations’ “Romeo et Juliette” and “Porgy and Bess”.  However, she prefers to focus on R&B/Soul. She is also a seasoned songwriter.

In September of 2010 Erika formed a band named “The Foundation” now composed of Chris Guccione '09 on drums, Samuel  A. Phillips on bass, Merell Burkett on keyboard, Ross Carlson on guitar, Carson Wahl on trumpet, Leland Baker '11 on tenor sax, and Sean Gray-Julian on trombone.  Erika penned a majority of the songs her band performs.

Her music is a fusion of Jazz, R&B, and Soul. Erika Flowers and The Foundation perform regularly around the New Orleans area.  The sultry songstress values her voice as a gift, and looks forward to sharing it with the world.

Come out and celebrate the release of Erika Flowers' first EP on Friday, December 2nd, 2011 at 10pm at the Eiffel Society, 2040 Saint Charles Avenue. The night will feature performances from Erika Flowers and with special guests Freedom Speaks. For more information please visit www.erikaflowers.com
