Valerie Goertzen’s essay, “At the Piano with Joseph and Johannes: Joachim’s Overtures in Brahms’s Circle,” has been published in the collection Brahms in the Home and the Concert Hall, edited by Katy Hamilton and Natasha Loges (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2014). In October Dr. Goertzen traveled to Kiel, Germany, to consult with the editorial team for the new Brahms Collected Edition and to attend the triennial meeting of the support committee for that international project.
