Loyola University New Orleans Instructor of Flute and Piccolo Patti Adams is the designer and illustrator on a new book, Survival of the Flutist, by Marianna Gedigian, who played for years with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and last year gave a masterclass and recital at Loyola with her husband, tubist Charles Villarubia. Adams designed, illustrated, and hand-lettered the 80-page picture book, all while playing the spring season of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and teaching at both Loyola and the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts.
