Opera: Amahl & The Night Visitors
Date: Saturday, December 9, 2023 - 7:30pm Location: Holy Name of Jesus Church On December 9th and 10th, you will have two chances to see Loyola's production of Amahl & the Night Visitors in Holy Name of Jesus Church. This short (~45 minutes) opera by composer Gian Carlo Menotti tells a charming story about the three kings from the Nativity narrative, and the young shepherd boy they meet along the way. The performers include Loyola faculty, staff, students, and alumni, in addition to professionals from the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. This delightful show is appropriate for all ages - and free for children 12 and under! We are thrilled to be putting on this show, and we hope you'll join us for this wonderful opera.

Join the Loyola University as they perform The Seven Joys of Christmas by Kirke Mechem, Latin motets by Monteverdi, Sweelinck, and Josquin, along with traditional carols and arrangements. The program is free and open to the public.
