Five Theatre Arts Students to be in New Southern Rep Acting Company

Loyola resident theatre company, Southern Rep Theatre, is excited to announce the launch of a new acting company. The initiative will be dedicated to community engagement and the deepening of artistic values. Actors will serve as a network of performers in new play development, arts education, and audience engagement programming.

Southern Rep agreed to hold three spots of the new company for Loyola Theatre Arts majors and minors. After watching Loyola Theatre Arts students audition for the company, Southern Rep representatives were so impressed that they gave five students a spot in the company. Please join us in congratulating Amanda Alch, Kyler L. Jett, Saisha Lee, Tess Rowland and Zachary Weber for becoming the first Loyola student members of the Southern Rep Acting Company!

Our selected students will now have the opportunity to be part of Southern Rep's ongoing conversations about their programming, the art they make, and how to make their own pathway within the New Orleans community. They will be able to participate in pop-up performances, in-house readings, 4D readings and performances and Arts Education productions. For all five of our students, joining the Southern Rep Theatre Acting comapny will be a launch pad for their successful careers in the theatre industry.
