Prophecies and Parables

Tumbling through the pages of a black leather-bound book I find myself lost in the parables and teachings it provides me. With each passing work that I read and recreate in my mind, I become touched and I encounter something else among the thin pages.

Taking these encounters from reading the Catholic Bible and reflecting on their messages I became inspired by their stories. After traveling to the Holy Land in Israel, and seeing these places mentioned in the book, I grew more aware of how everything mentioned in it took place. Flooded with images and ideas of these sacred stories and events I was motivated to express these events by imagery.

The work presented here is reflecting upon specific stories in scripture that have touched me in my readings and in my travels. Each work uses the classical form of paint combined with mixed media tools to help present the work as a whole and show the passage being depicted.
