Extraordinary Professor, Popular & Commercial Music, & Associate Director of School of Music Industry
Kate Duncan offers a wealth of musical experience to her courses and ensembles. A musical educator and performer, she has spent the last ten years working in nearly every genre - opera, jazz, funk, pop, and even country. Kate spent years as director of a Pennsylvania-based school of music, and currently works as a vocal jazz arranger, lecturer, and clinician for various groups across the country. An instrumental part of the new Popular & Commercial Music degree program, Kate's duties include vocal ensemble direction, singer/songwriter ensemble direction, private voice study, and musicianship theory courses. Kate also serves as an advisor to Full-Tilt Event Productions, a student-operated entrepreneurial group.
In addition to teaching courses and ensembles at Loyola University, Kate continues to pursue her performance and writing/arranging career in the greater New Orleans area.
