Loyola sculpture professor Mark Grote, Edward and Adelaide Benjamin Distinguished Professor of Visual Arts, was artist-in-residence at Furman University, Greenville, South Carolina, March 27-April 7. Both the students and Grote created sculpture from materials collected from local Goodwill and Salvation Army stores. Students transformed these collected materials into new sculpture, and then applied colors and other materials. The resulting exhibition features work that came out of the collaboration between Furman students and Professor Grote during his two-week residency.
