Art & Art History Students Behind the Scenes at P.4

On November 6, a group of Art and Art History students joined Prospect New Orleans Interim Director Ylva Rouse at the Contemporary Art Center to observe installations of artists' work for Prospect 4, the international art triennial, which opened to the public on November 18 at venues around the city. During the tour, the students had a chance to interact with two P.4 artists, Rina Banerjee and Dave Muller, both of whom were busy getting their respective exhibits ready for the opening. Rouse had already spoken to a large crowd at Loyola one week earlier, on October 30, as part of the Department of Art's ongoing Career Colloquium series, which highlights professional paths in art-related fields. The tour of installations at the CAC was intended as an on-site follow-up to that lecture on the field of arts administration. In addition to her current work organizing and promoting P.4, Rouse has been a critic and a curator at major institutions in both in the United States and Europe.
